“Books, my dear, are a very serious matter”, he said gravely while taking a novel from the shelf. “People should never underestimate the power which lies between the pages of a good book. Traveling without taking a single step. Influencing minds without physical presence.
What thoughts and imaginings start to leak out when one is reading! Oh, and the hopes and dreams that are inspired afterward!”
He paused, engrossed by his own thoughts, then slowly and deliberately he continued.
“So, my child, keep reading. Never stop.”

QUESTIONS FROM ME TO YOU:
——-
QUESTIONS FROM wu-tang-smilin-dem0n
1. What’s your greatest ideological fear?
Making the wrong decisions.
2. Do you love anyone (doesn’t have to be romantic - could be like a family love type thing) and why?
I love so many people, mostly family and friends, because they have come to mean so much to me in their own different ways. :]
3. If you had to teach something, what would you teach?
I’m actually teaching now :))
I’ve taught Creative Writing and Animation Writing in the past 6 months. This coming term I’m handling Animation Introduction. Though… I’d prefer to mentor rather than teach.
4. Time or Money?
I would have said Time almost by instinct but realistically… Money. I’m not a greedy person but having money means I would spend less time making it therefore more time with my loved ones as well as an earlier start to putting up businesses/production houses, producing movies, help publish books, travel, and etc.
5. What’s your favorite genre of books/movies/anything?
Fiction, Fantasy, Adventure, Sci-fi, Detective, Slice of life
6. If you could live in any country, what country would you live in?
Philippines, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Paris, New York, The Shire… oh wait… just 1?
7. What’s your fatal flaw?
I’m prone to analysis paralysis.
8. If you were a demigod, whose son or daughter would you want to be (it can be out of ANY mythological gods or goddesses in ANY religion/culture)?
Can Mother Nature be considered a goddess?
9. How do you envision the future of the world?
I would love to think it could become more emphatic, loving, understanding and less judgmental.
10. If we get to a point where robots are highly functioning A.I. do you think robots should have the same rights as humans do?
This is a toughie… especially since I watched Blade Runner recently and it kinda touched this subject and of humanity.
I don’t have a firm opinion on this so it may change but I do believe that humans should still be the priority. If humankind cannot benefit as a race with the modification of these robots then why pursue it in the first place? Besides maybe space exploration, I cannot imagine how replacing the human element would be beneficial to our society. Today though technology has advance, it has also become a common commodity… Making it expendable —- For example, we take for granted the ease of communication we have available. Look at how easily we change cellphones or talk/chat internationally. Yes, there are also benefits but from what I’ve noticed… when people have it too easy, we become spoiled and sluggish.I’ll stop myself now because I’m suddenly starting to have reflection which, if not checked, may become a term/thesis paper. I also kinda went off topic.
In fewer words, I believe robots should have “rights” if the possibility becomes reality but I hope the day does not arrive that we put more trust in a robot than our fellow human beings.
11. What has the past year for you been like?
It’s been a rollercoster of emotions attached with the realities of growing up.
I have never known victory to be bittersweet until recently.
I’m glad I decided to visit Art District where #Bacollywood was showing international films and a few student made ones :) I was happy I was able to catch Kenkoy Express’ impromptu show and see some teachers and old classmates. Catching up and meeting people with the same interests reminds me why I started to love production. #bacolod #bacollywood #kenkoyexpress #CafeJoint #artdistrict #art #acting #impromptu #nightout #irl #personal
Long time ago I caught a Chinese/Hong Kong movie with a gambler as the main character… I’m not sure if this is the movie but the feel is similar. It’s called “god of Gambling” and it’s a series of 3 movies :) #movies #movie #Chinese (correct me if I’m wrong tagging that) #Gambling #godofgambling #irl #personal #renka002 #thoughtfulwonderings
If you don’t want to risk everything… you may not want it bad enough. Which makes me wonder… what do I really want?
I am amazed at the loyalty of Grupo Progreso supporters! I just came home from 3 different rallies and the last rally ended near 1am but there was still a good amount of people with us till the end. Glad to see the enthusiasm energize papa though he had been up since 7am for handshaking and other events. :) #grupoprogreso #bingleonardia #rally #2013campaign #Bacolod #irl #personal
“You see, loneliness is the price we pay for being born in this modern age, so full of freedom, independence, and our own egotistical selves.”
This book was definitely something I wouldn’t pick out for myself but it ended up to be a nice sort of bittersweet kind of read. @easelandthelion had just finished reading it when I got intrigued. After hearing bits of the story from her I decided to have a go at the book. It was refreshing in its simple writing yet complex story. There may be some who may find the pacing slow but I found it wonderful. Written in a first person point of view, It allowed one to be engrossed with how the characters think and somehow invites you to reflect on modern life.
